Peavey V-Type EXP WT Reviews 1

Picked up this guitar online from Birdland music. $300 U.S.

I ordered this guitar because i had been wanting a 24 3/4 scale guitar with a Floyd Rose. It has those features, but that's about all it has going for it. The strange body shape is kinda cool, i suppose.

Muddy tones, heavy for it's size, not well balanced, the worst Floyd Rose construction i've seen, no fret markers except at the 12th fret, could have used a single coil option...

As i stated, the Floyd Rose sucked on this guitar! The fine tuners are badly threaded, when i recieved this guitar 3 of the 6 fine tuners were stripped and impossible to turn. I recieved a replacement from Peavey and it was the same!!!!! The locking nut also was not located properly, i had to trim the fretboard and relocate it just to play in tune in first position! It seems after spending some time designing the body shape (which is basically a re-cap of the old "Vandenburg" model), they just slapped the guitar together.

If someone wanted an unusually shaped 24 3/4 scale Floyd equipped guitar to do some modifications on, they might be interested in this model. Otherwise, i definitely couldn't recommend it. Any professional guitarist will be appalled by the stock playability/functionality. I'm definitely going to steer away from Peavey when it comes to guitars, although i do like some of their amps that i've tried.
